Advanced technology (some developed exclusively for the venue) takes center stage at Spotlight Live, a new entertainment and performance venue in Times Square. The 23,000-square-foot property has four floors of space on Broadway and a deal with Comcast to stream live performances on its Web site and on-demand TV channel. Tableside touch-screen monitors allow guests to communicate with one another and with Web users, and private booths enable visitors to record a CD of songs. Other offerings on-site are two stages, a greenroom, and a private event space that holds 100. Embracing the popularity of comfort-food-focused menus, chef Kerry Simon (of Simon LA) created a lineup of “classic American” fare that includes pigs in a blanket, spaghetti and meatballs, cotton candy, and snow cones. —Anna Sekula
