It's not just Jeffrey Chodorow who's fighting the food critics. Mario Batali has spoken out on Eater.com, ranting about the inaccuracy of food bloggers and how the blogs are a "bit of shoddy journalism" (ironic, given the medium he's using to convey his message). Batali points out, much like a recent ABCNews.com story did, that the information is often ill-informed and misleading to readers but nonetheless puts a chef or restaurateur in a defensive position. The chatter also has us wondering: With more publications introducing blogs to their sites, personal ones becoming more popular, and owners like Chodorow ready to pounce, will traditional reviews lose their power?
