Siegal and Saffir Wage Screening Showdown

This week New York magazine suggests a feud between PR pros Peggy Siegal and Andrew Saffir, who are both planning movie screenings in the Hamptons on June 23. Siegal's pushing Michael Moore's Sicko and Saffir Griffin Dunne's Fierce People—and both are likely targeting the same group of influential types.

Siegal is the queen of such screenings, meant to get buzz around a film, and Saffir entered the fray in 2005, going after sponsors to pay for film events. These days Siegal does about 75 such gatherings a year; Saffir does 20 to 25. Both, of course, say there's no feud—and there's plenty of work to go around. "If I tried to do any more events," Siegal says, "I'd have a complete nervous breakdown."
