City Councilman Suggests Inaugural Party in Central Park

New York might see its own massive public celebration on Inauguration Day, according to PolitickerNY. City Councilman Eric Gioia mentioned erecting JumboTrons in Central Park for those people without a ticket to Washington, going so far as to suggest private funding if the city lacks the means to pay for such an endeavor.

Calls to Mayor Bloomberg's office weren't immedaitaly returned, but if the proposal comes to fruition, don't expect Central Park's record-breaking crowds of yore. The New York Times debunked those statistics last summer, and all park events now have a strict attendance cap of 75,000.
