Since opening Flatiron district nightclub and lounge Ultra, owner Tommy Tardie has had a number of changes in mind to make the venue more flexible and attractive for events. Now Tardie is planning to close his three-year-old venue on August 13, make some structural and aesthetic alterations, and reopen it the week of September 7 as La Pomme. The plans for the 3,500-square-foot space include completely overhauling the decor, expanding the coat check area, and moving the DJ booth from its elevated position to a ground-level spot.

The most notable difference between Ultra and La Pomme will be the design; PR Design Group is revamping the look by adding photographer Fadil Berisha's photo murals to the walls, installing new light fixtures, and creating a canopy comprised of circular cutouts that will cover a large portion of the main space. Other changes include replacing the unisex restrooms with separate ones for men and women, outfitting La Pomme with movable furniture, and partnering with Sotu Productions to provide entertainment for events and club nights.
