1. SETH MEYERS TO HOST EMMYS: New Late Night host Seth Meyers will host this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards, which will broadcast on NBC from Los Angeles August 25. 2. PLANNERS SEE RISE IN CHILDREN’S PARTIES: More parents are throwing elaborate birthday parties for their children, with one popular theme based on the Disney movie Frozen. 3. BURBERRY RECREATES ‘MARY POPPINS’ AT SHANGHAI FASHION SHOW: Burberry sent model Cara Delevingne soaring through the air in a high-fashion homage to Marry Poppins in Shanghai. ATLANTIC CITY:  The DO AC Fire on the Water Festival is a new two-day festival May 17-18 at at Historic Gardner’s Basin Waterfront Park. Planned by Market City Solutions, the Atlantic City Alliance, and the city, the event will include the Firefighter Combat Challenge World Tour and the seventh annual “Guns vs. Hoses” boxing tournament between firefighters and police.

BOSTON:  Whoopi Goldberg and Jay Leno are among the headliners of the AARP LifeAt50+ National Event and Expo, which comes to Boston May 8-10.

LAS VEGAS:  Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino announced plans on Thursday to expand its convention center. The resort will add new exhibit space and underground parking and increase overall square footage. Plans include the addition of more than 350,000 square feet of exhibit space to the existing 1.7-million-square-foot Mandalay Bay Convention Center.

Clark County celebrated the return of Las Vegas Foodie Fest by officially declaring Thursday as "Las Vegas Foodie Fest Day" during a proclamation ceremony Wednesday in front of the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.

New York-New York Hotel & Casino will host the 17th annual qualifying event for the 99th annual Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island. The qualifying event is slated for April 26 on New York-New York’s new Strip-side plaza.
