The Watermill Center's Russian Madness fund-raiser took inspiration from the Russian artists whose work was auctioned to benefit the cultural center, which was founded by stage director/designer Robert Wilson. To enter the event, guests made their way along a winding path through the woods on the center's property, where they found installations including hanging strands of geometric glass by Avi Adler. Between the woods and the dining tent (provided by Starr Tents) Adler stationed bubble machines to create a fun effect.
Inside the tents, Adler worked with Lux Lighting to create an intense atmosphere with red and white lighting that shone circular spots of light onto swaths of grass and projected characters of the Russian alphabet and symbols of sponsor Louis Vuitton onto the ceilings. Adler also designed custom-made silk table coverings and white lounge seating with red and white pillows for the event.
