Formerly known as the International Plaza Resort & Spa, the Doubletree Resort Orlando-International Drive opened in October following a $35 million renovation. The upgrades include new restaurants and redesigned guest rooms and event spaces.
The 1,046-room resort has 60,000 square feet of event space spread across three on-site conference centers and is just three blocks from the Orange County Convention Center.
The Oceans Conference Center is the largest of the three meeting areas with the 12,000-square-foot Oceans ballroom that can seat 910 or can be separated into four rooms for groups of about 250 in each area. The center also has 12 additional breakout rooms and lobby areas for groups of 14 o 120.
The Lakes Conference Center has four event areas, including the 10,000-square-foot Great Lakes ballroom, which can host 1,000 for receptions or be separated into three rooms that hold 250 each. There’s also a terrace for 120.
The bilevel Tower Conference Center has a 3,300-square-foot ballroom on the first floor and a 3,000-square-foot ballroom on the second floor, both of which can be separated into three spaces for smaller events. Each floor also has a terrace to accommodate 216 on the first floor and 184 on the second.
The hotel's three dining options include the 270-seat Bamboo Grille, which has indoor and outdoor seating. The property also has three brick-lined pools, a miniature golf-course and putting green, and a fitness center.
