Jaime Barnhart began her new role as director of conferences for the American Moving & Storage Association, the trade group for the professional moving industry, in August. Barnhart is based out of the 3,700-member organization’s Alexandria headquarters, where she plans four regional training events and an annual board of directors event annually. She also leads the team that puts together the association’s two major conferences: the 75-person National Safety Conference in Arizona and the 600-person Annual Education Conference and Expo in Dallas.
Prior to joining the AMSA team, Barnhart worked for the Employee Assistance Professionals Association in Arlington, where she managed an annual meeting of 1,200 attendees and 100 exhibitors. She has also planned government meetings for Booz Allen Hamilton.
Barnhart currently serves on the PMPI board as the director for professional management; she also leads the chapter's Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) study group, a certification she earned in January 2007.
