Beverly Wilshire Fetes New Puck/Meier Spaces, Spa

Last night we stopped by the opening party for Wolfgang Puck’s new Cut steak house and the adjoining Sidebar lounge, designed by über-architect Richard Meier. We think the clean, minimalist spaces nicely complement the opulent Regent Beverly Wilshire hotel, where they occupy the rear ground level. (And we’ve never had a more delicious potato knish.) BWR handled PR.

Meanwhile, upstairs, the hotel also celebrated the redesign of its spa with a soiree around a pool (same old un-redesigned pool, but still attractive) filled with bright orange inflatable balls and dozens of floating oranges. As guests entered the poolside party via a walkway lined in billowy fabric, they were invited to participate in building their own Kir Royale cocktails by first picking up a champagne flute, then holding it as one staffer after the next poured first Chambord, then champagne, then added a twist.
