Sheffield's—the laid-back sports bar in Lakeview that houses one of the city's best-known beer gardens—now offers Beer School, special classes that focus on the history of the brewed beverage. Held within the venue's Dude's Bar, the space features old-fashioned kegs, a vintage classroom desk, and collectible beer cans and bottles. Classes are led by former Sheffield's bartenders Brian Moreland and Phil Kuhl, and groups can opt to round out their studies with a three-course dinner, which features items off the special Beer School menu (think pulled pork pita and honey butter pretzels) paired with specialty brews. Beer School events start at $25 a head and are available for groups with as many as 40 guests.
