Sparks Fly Between Grucci and Macy's

Macy's is declaring its independence from Fireworks by Grucci, New York's most famous pyrotechnics firm, according to The New York Post. The Grucci family has worked on six of Macy's July 4 fireworks displays, but this year the giant retailer is going with Pyro Spectaculars, a California-based company that has worked with Grucci on the event in the past. "[Macy's is] doing a power play—and we're not going to let them get away with it," one "Grucci insider" told the Post. "It's our hometown. It sits very bad with us."
