Pantone Forecasts Colors

Inside the Fashion Week tents, we sat down with Pantone Color Institute’s executive director Leatrice Eiseman, who told us about her forecast for fall 2005, a palette of 10 colors: rattan beige, glaxonia purple, ruby wine, burnt orange, glazed ginger orange, American beauty red, Moroccan blue, moss green, burnt olive, and atmosphere gray. She expects that these colors, popular on the runways of Fashion Week, will find their ways into the home wares, tabletop, textile, and other event-related marketplaces within six months. Eiseman also sees film noir colors and styles—black, white, lipstick red, and deep blue applied to vintage deco looks—as an influence on event and furniture designers. Consider yourself informed.
