Looking at the Event Style Award Finalists

So who will take home the B-shaped awards—and the bragging rights—from next week’s BiZBash Event Style Awards? You’ll have to come to the event at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill next Tuesday to find out, but it’s safe to say that the finalists are a mix of past winners and new faces.

EventQuest leads the pack as a finalist in four categories, including Best Overall Event Decor, which the company has won for the past two years. There are also five companies that have two finalist entries, including Creative Intelligence, with two invites competing in the Best Invitation category (which it won in 2002 and 2003), and Bentley Meeker, with two entries for Best Lighting (which it won in 2003 and 2004). Lisa Lori Communications, which took the Best Event Concept prize last year, has two finalist entries in the Best Gift Bag category. And Matthew David Events—a winner back in 2002 for Best Tabletop Design—returns as a finalist in Best Use of Tent Design and Best Fresh Idea.

The other company with two chances to win is making its first appearance at the ceremony: Dalzell Productions is competing in both the Best Staging/Set Design and the Best Tabletop Design categories. And there are plenty of other companies looking to win in their first time on our list of finalists: Van Wyck & Van Wyck will be challenging EventQuest for the Best Overall Event Decor award (along with Travel & Leisure magazine). Our new categories—including Best Entertainment Program/Concept and Best New Venue—also promise to bring some fresh faces up to claim their awards.

The wide array of events represented in the awards includes parties and promotions for Marc Jacobs, AOL, Nobu, Saks Fifth Avenue, Mercedes, Disney, and the Republican National Convention. To register, go to www.bizbash.com/eventstyleawards (admission is $25 when you register online, $40 at the door).
