Mr. Chow Debuts TriBeCa Outpost

E6310152
Thirty-seven years after the original Mr. Chow launched in London and almost 30 years after the 57th Street location opened, Michael Chow unveiled Mr. Chow Tribeca in May. The downtown outpost blends Chow’s Beijing cuisine with a sleek Art Deco decor, attracting celebrity clientele to the 12,000-square-foot space that was once Pace. The black and white lacquer dining room harkens back to the days when disco was giving way to new wave, and the haughty Italian waitstaff takes guests through the ordering process (sans menus). Downstairs, the 40-seat private room has gold leaf walls, mahogany floors, and a private bar. —Caryl Chinn
