Friends of the High Line Summer Party

The High Line's annual summer party took place June 22 in New York. Underwritten by Coach with an urban jungle theme, the event featured four dinosaur topiaries as a homage to the brand's mascot Rexy. The topiaries ranged from five to nine feet tall, and served as the party's centerpieces as well as selfie photo spots.

Designer Joel Loblaw brought elements of the outdoors inside. Inspired by childhood memories of camping or visiting a rustic cabin, the installation contained firewood, enamelware camping plates, and peat moss.

While officially buying the building before the gala was always the goal, event planner Sam Palmer was careful to ensure the gathering would be successful even if the timing didn’t work out. “We had a million different plans, because quite frankly, a million details needed to go right for that to happen,' he said. 'Our leadership and board worked very, very hard to get us across the finish line, and it was a beautiful moment.”
