The Las Olas Art Center hosted a benefit for AIDS Project Florida, an organization dedicated to helping fight AIDS. Original works of art blended with fashion creating an extreme, over-the-top atmosphere.
Keeping with the evening's theme, guests dressed in black and white, and became part of the decor, which consisted of black and white balloons from Balloon Affairs that covered the ceiling. Artwork on display throughout the gallery also served as decor—rich, vibrant colors and quirky details that really grabbed guests' attention.
Paul Sigler of EventWerx created a chic and inspirational environment charged with creativity. The lower level offered dance music that kept the guests' energy high, adding to the anticipation of the upcoming fashion show and unveiling of the Secret Artists' Society display—a project that brought the evening's extreme art theme to life. By contrast, the upper level was mellow, a space where guests chose to sit down and relax, sip wine, and mingle with the resident artists whose works were on display. Delicious hors d'oeuvres were pushed through the space on black industrial-style carts provided by Hugh's Catering.
The evening came to a crescendo when models from SAS Fashion show walked the red carpet runway dressed in unconventional metallic clothes and the Secret Artists' Society display revealed a person hooked up to the walls—one more exhibit bringing extreme art to life.
