Fashion Week is half-way through its schedule of shows and events, with only three days remaining before the tents at Bryant Park come down. Tuesday offered a couple of eye-catching presentations, including Alice & Olivia's free-form display inside its Bryant Park store, Betsey Johnson's threatrical presentation, and Vivienne Tam's catwalk debut of a mini computer.
Returning with tried and true formats, both Alice & Olivia and Betsey Johnson hosted colorful, whimsical presentations of their spring 2009 lines. Alice & Olivia created a 1960s-style backdrop based on the "hippie trippie" theme of its line, and Johnson incorporated a patterned runway, balloons, a pink entrance, and her signature cartwheels into her show at the tents. For Tam, the focus of her presentation and after-party was her collaboration with Hewlett-Packard, which resulted in a digital clutch—a special edition notebook computer featuring a red peony cover.
