Inauguration Party Ideas: Going Red, White, and Blue—But Not Hokey

With President Obama's second inauguration scheduled for this weekend, many events will take on themes of national pride. But not every patriotic event has to have bright stars-and-stripes bunting or a costumed Uncle Sam. Here's a look at some events that featured sophisticated takes on the red, white, and blue theme.

Champagne sponsor Veuve Clicquot, which first partnered with Stella McCartney in December at Art Basel Miami Beach, constructed a tower comprised of 10 layers of champagne coupes that utilized around 36 bottles continually poured to keep it flowing. Veuve Clicquot was also served at the bar and passed on trays. Block letters spelling out 'Stella' stood atop the fireplace.
