To celebrate the launch of her new paint line, which became available in Michaels stores in June, Martha Stewart hosted a paint party for media and influencers on June 15 at her offices at Hudson Studios in New York. To showcase the versatility of the new products, David Stark Design and Production built a colorful house facade out of 2,710 bottles of home-decor paint and watercolor-craft paint.
Guests were invited to grab paint brushes from window boxes, then go to work painting everything inside the house—including rugs, couches, lampshades, duvet covers, nightstands, and more. Stewart wandered around the party giving advice on their color choices and showing guests how to use her new home-decor stencils and adhesive laser-cut mylar stencils.
“The new assortment of paints can be used in a variety of ways and on a variety of surfaces, so we wanted to create an experience that allowed guests to interact with the paints and tools to really see how versatile, and easy to use, the collection is for a wide array of fun D.I.Y. projects,” said Mallory Smith, manager of public relations for Michaels.
