Never one to be boring, Betsey Johnson presented, as expected, a splashy runway show with an intensely designed set on Tuesday. Re-creating a 1950s prom motif, the decorations inside the Bryant Park tents included disco balls, a rose-covered archway, and star-shaped projections. Those in the front row became part of the show, as their seats were placed around dinner tables embellished with pink tablecloths and floral arrangements.
If all that wasn't enough, the show included female models accompanied by tuxedo-clad male escorts, Johnson's trademark cartwheels, and a striptease finish. The popular show hit capacity with close to 1,000 guests in attendance.
