On the Today Show's "Today Throws a Wedding" series, the latest decision in the democratically planned affair is who will provide the cake for Jenny and Jeff's big day. The New York-based cake decorator on the ballot is Margaret Braun, owner of Margaret Braun Cakes and Sugar Objects. We spoke with Braun about her towering Vera Wang-inspired vanilla and buttercream creation, and she told us the show's producers contacted her about the contest, and chose the fondant-festooned cake from her new book, Cakewalk (left), which will be released in September through Rizzoli. Although Braun often creates wedding cakes, she also designs for corporate events and can create specialty cakes that look like everyday objects--or enormous cakes like the one she created for 8,000 guests at a Lincoln Center Midsummer Night's Swing event. --Samantha Melamed
