Chef Alain Ducasse has announced plans to open a D.C. restaurant in September at the recently renovated St. Regis. (The hotel just completed a $53-million, 16-month renovation in January, as reported by The Washington Post.) Ducasse’s 23rd restaurant, named Adour for the French river near his hometown, follows after a sister property (also named Adour) at the St. Regis New York that opened in January.

With 60 seats planned for the main dining room, the 3,000-square-foot restaurant, designed by New York firm Rockwell Group, will feature Brazilian walnut wood, black lacquer, and polished chrome art installations, according to The Washington Business Journal. Glass and stainless steel wine vaults will be featured prominently in the space, which will also include a 40-seat bar and a semi-private dining area for eight. No head chef or menu has been announced, but Ducasse said in a press release that he plans to bring "a different approach to pairing wine and food to an international city that shows a strong appreciation for the art of good living."
