Nightlife impresario Cedd Moses opened his latest venture, the Doheny, in March. The club has received much attention around town for its members-only access and secretive location (it's downtown near Staples Center).
The nightlife spot is now available for private booking several nights a week, even for nonmembers. Event spaces include a club room featuring reclaimed hardwood floors, a concrete ceiling, and toffee-hued leather booths, and an outdoor smoking patio set in a greenhouse with a gaslit fireplace. The venue has a total capacity of 100.Mixologists Vincenzo Marianella (formerly a staffer at Providence) and Eric Alperin (formerly with Osteria Mozza) created an extensive cocktail menu of 75 handcrafted libations; catering service is available for events. Drinks wash down small plates designed by chef Neal Fraser of Grace, and include items like chive blinis and horseradish crème fraîche served with imported Iranian Ossetra caviar.
