On Sunday, the James Beard Foundation held its 21st annual awards show, at New York's Lincoln Center. Hosted by Kim Cattrall and Bobby Flay, the three-hour ceremony, which was followed by an artisanal-inspired gala, recognized accomplishments in the food industry.
In the end, one Washington restaurant and one Washington chef walked away with awards—Central Michel Richard for the Best New Restaurant and Eric Ziebold from the Mandarin Oriental's CityZen for Best Chef in the mid-Atlantic region—while Terry Theise, of Silver Spring-based Terry Theise Estate Selections, took home the prize for Outstanding Wine and Spirits Professional.
