At a press luncheon last week, the owners of Central Park South institution San Domenico announced that they will be moving the restaurant to a new location near Madison Square Park by spring next year. And while the Italian eatery moves, management has launched a catering services for events. San Domenico Events, led by catering director Sarah Denby, serves some of the restaurant’s specialties created by chef Odette Fada, including suckling pig confit with spices and smoked-apple puree and pappa con pomodoro soup shooters.

According to yesterday’s New York Post, the new restaurant, to be called SD26, will be larger—325 seats—and unlike Adam Tihany's showy design in Midtown, will feature a more streamlined look from Massimo Vignelli. Among the plans for the Flatiron location are private dining facilities in addition to a bar/lounge and a dining room.
