Yesterday evening, the Glazier Group—catering company and owners of New York sites such as Bridgewaters and Strip House—officially announced the sale of its Midtown restaurant Monkey Bar. The eatery, which originally opened in 1932 and was acquired by the hospitality group in 1994, underwent several adjustments in the past year, including a renovation and chef changes in the kitchen—Patricia Yeo introduced a new menu last May, and Chris Cheung took over from her in February.

“While we love Monkey Bar, we wanted to focus on our other businesses, including the Strip House brand, Michael Jordan’s The Steakhouse N.Y.C., and our catering operations,” said owner Peter Glazier in a press release. “We are committed to bringing high-quality dining experiences to all our guests in our other properties. We wish the new owners the same great success that we have enjoyed at the Monkey Bar.”

Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, Page Six reported this morning that the new owner is Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter, who plans to reopen the venue next summer.
