Bucktown's Luscious Layers Bakery specializes in cakes and cupcakes in ususual flavors such as apple pie, lavender, and champagne; choices for fillings run the gamut from tangerine mousse to green tea whipped cream. Owner and baker Ashley Galliart also prepares bite-size treats for dessert tables at meetings and events. Catering to groups of any size, Galliart's sweets include miniature white chocolate mousse cups and passion fruit truffles; she can also create cakes and cookies decorated with corporate logos, or shaped and decorated to resemble specific products. Open since March, the bakery can deliver the confections to offices and event spaces in the city and suburbs.
