Art Los Angeles Contemporary, which began Thursday night and ran through the weekend at Barker Hangar, opened its first-ever pop-up café on site. The eatery, known as Forage (after the restaurant in Silver Lake's Sunset Junction), operated in tandem with the fair to serve collectors, exhibitors, and visitors from around the world. The restaurant's seasonal menu pays homage to the local climate, and sources locally grown foods from both farmers and backyard gardeners. At the fair, Forage chef and owner Jason Kim offered exclusive selections commissioned specifically for the café, available only at the event. An on-site kitchen provided options for carnivores and vegetarians, including full meals, light meals, snacks, desserts, and beverages. The café offered counter service, casual dining, and options for preorder and takeaway. Kim said in a release, “Forage is about celebrating what’s good to eat right now, and Art Los Angeles Contemporary is about celebrating art that’s now."
