Samuel Beckett’s, a 5,000-square-foot authentic Irish pub, opened in Shirlington on January 10 and has three spaces for groups. The main dining area, including the stools at the curved wooden bar, can seat 119.
For private events, the mezzanine overlooking the main space can seat 60. Larger parties of 100 can use the back section of the first floor. Buyouts are also available—the pub can hold 279 for dining or 350 for a reception.
A floor-to-ceiling bookshelf filled with old Irish artifacts lines the main wall of the dining room, which is decorated with black-and-white photos. The bar has 12 beers on tap, including Irish favorite Kilkenny, as well as more than 15 Irish whiskeys.
The menu consists of traditional Irish fare like lamb shank, fish cakes, and meat pies, as well as options like bangers ’n’ mash and an Irish breakfast with fried eggs, baked beans, bacon, sausage, fried tomato, and blood sausage.
