Singapore Airlines celebrated the inauguration of its nonstop service from Singapore to Newark airport at the Trump World Towers penthouse apartment—best known for its cameo appearance on The Apprentice—with its much cooed-over skyline views. Singapore Airlines marketing director James Boyd oversaw the event.Unique bars dotted the venue. Musters & Company paired a 16-foot stainless steel, lighted Plexiglas and rattan bar with low tables and massive orchid arrangements for a Far East look. A champagne and caviar bar featured built-in wells for chilled food and beverages, and a tall mahogany wood bar featured floating candles and lilies.
Waitstaff from Abigail Kirsch and Metropolitan Hospitality offered the 250 guests—the airline's top travel industry clients—Charles Heidseik champagne and red "Singapore Sparkler" cocktails. In addition to the seafood and caviar bar, Abigail Kirsch provided Singapore-inspired hors d’oeuvres on modern Plexiglas trays and shots of chilled soup like fresh orange and carrot with spiced pumpkin seeds and a chilled green tomato broth served with chili prawns. More bite-sized menu options included boneless beef short ribs on corn griddle cakes with crispy yams and smoked salmon.phparagus salad with celery root, mache and lemon crème fraiche. Desserts included warm chocolate fondue, ice cream truffles, caramelized peaches and cream, and lime coconut pistachio parfaits.
Singapore Airlines provided business class and coach seats as well as bed-like first class seats for guests to check out. The Arial Hendricks Quartet (booked through Situation Entertainment) performed live jazz.
