"Sun!," the sizzling tropical-with-a-twist-themed environment created by SHOWORKS for BiZBashFla's Tampa-based Creative Environment FunShops featured dazzling decor, hot Latin dancers, larger-than-life characters such as a human volcano, a fire-eater and an eight-foot-tall lobster, and enough food to sate even the hungriest group of event planners.
The foyer's subtle and elegant atmosphere was a direct contrast to the opening session, as motivational magician Giovanni kicked off the festivities with a high-energy, interactive performance, followed by "50 Tips in 50 Minutes," the general session presented by BiZBash Media's Richard Aaron. Break-out sessions that followed included: "Possibilities! The Art & Science of Creative Thinking," presented by Sharon Fisher, president of Play With A Purpose and "Promote! Promote! Promote! How to Get the Attention You Deserve," moderated by BiZBashFla's Shari Lynn Rothstein.
Then it was time for the main event. Following the lead of design and production company SHOWORKS, an exclusive collection of vendors including AVHQ, Panache Party Rentals, Evention Show Productions, and Grant Hemond and Associates created a super-sexy, tropical environment at A La Carte Event Pavilion, bringing to life the alluring sights, engaging sounds and mouth-watering tastes of Florida.
Guests entered the space to find bursts of color coming from everywhere—from a huge internally lit acrylic sun that illuminated a stage to the vividly colored linens on the tables. Food was abundant—a U-shaped interactive food bar had chefs continuously preparing and sending hors d'oeuvres out to guests, while a buffet table was stocked with colorful and striking food presentations including a stunning assortment of homemade breads, intricate veggie baskets, Thai-style chicken, and more. Entertainment by Evention Show Production came from everywhere, including the ceiling as Uta the aerialist spun from a dangling hoop; Latin dancers turned up the heat with a steamy dance performance; Lamont the human volcano played with fire; showgirls strutted their stuff around the room in feathered costumes; and a stiltwalker dressed as a giant lobster was there to meet and greet.
"We created 'Sun! The Fusion of Color, Impact, and Imagination' to put a twist on the tropical theme, which is a Florida classic," said StefanieBerry, president of SHOWORKS. "We wanted to push tropical to a new level so it's not the same as always. We always try to raise the bar and that is what we did with this event."
