Restaurateur and event producer Barton G. Weiss opens his second restaurant, Prelude by Barton G., tonight in downtown Miami. At the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, inside the Ziff Ballet Opera House, the eatery caters to audiences as well as the general public.
The 2,500-square-foot restaurant is decorated in a palette of butterscotch, beige, and muted orange with dark brown accents and can seat as many as 220 throughout its dining room, bar, and outdoor areas.
The 120-seat dining room is anchored by an 16-seat onyx bar along its right wall. Seating is comprised of banquettes and two-top tables, above which hang chandeliers emulating Japanese flowers. The onyx wall in the rear of the space houses more than 200 bottles of wine, of which more than 88 are served by the glass. Five 60-inch plasma TVs adorn the walls and can be used for presentations.
For outdoor events, the 4,000-square-foot terrace overlooking the plaza of the opera house, can host as many as 100.
The restaurant serves New American cuisine like mini burgers and goat cheese tortellini and offers brunch and lunch service on days with matinee performances at the theater and dinner service Tuesday through Sunday. Additionally, a $39 prix-fixe menu called Diner’s Decision allows guests to choose three courses from selection of appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
