Opened earlier in March, the Renaissance Arlington Capital View is the latest hotel in real estate developers the JBG Companies’ portfolio. The 300-room hotel is just a mile from Ronald Reagan National Airport and has 17,354 square feet of meeting and event space.
The grand ballroom is the largest event area, with room to host as many as 900 people within its 10,164 square feet of unobstructed space. For breakout sessions, the ballroom can be separated into seven smaller rooms accommodating 60 to 85 each, or as many as 220 when three spaces are used together.
Prefunction space surrounds three sides of the ballroom and is shared by the nearby six meeting rooms and executive boardroom. The meeting rooms range from about 700 square feet to about 1,500 square feet and feature perimeter glass walls overlooking the Potomac River and Washington. They can accommodate groups of 16 to 130 depending on the seating arrangement. The boardroom is ideal for smaller meetings of 12. The meeting areas are outfitted with smartphone applications to control lighting and sound, as well as enhance Wi-Fi and cell phone connections.
For intimate affairs, the on-site Italian restaurant Socci can seat 96 in its main dining room or smaller parties of 14 in its chef's tasting room. Other property amenities include a 2,500-square-foot gym, business center, and swimming pool.
