Children and family advocacy group Hollygrove celebrated its centennial with a gala at the Hollywood Museum in the historic Max Factor building on Wednesday. "Hooray for Hollygrove," as it was known, was presented by Juicy Couture and hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, Busy Philipps, and Mary McCormack, with Rob Reiner serving as the night’s master of ceremonies. Director of development Cathy Kort worked with the Buzz Girls' and TIL PR's Heather Hope-Allison on the production.
The event offered a sneak peek at the young Norma Jean exhibit, including memorabilia from one particular Hollygrove resident—who later in her life became known as Marilyn Monroe. Attendees also participated in a live auction, raising more than $60,000 on-site. (An online auction gathered additional funds.) The celebrity attendees who were seated together—Harris, Butrka, and Philipps and McCormack and their spouses—collectively bid on one of the auction items, a vacation package, and have a group vacation on the books. Reiner bid up the American Idol-finale tickets in an effort to generate more cash for the group celebrating its milestone year.
Beverages came from sponsors Cupcake Vineyards, Blue Ice Vodka, and Dry Soda, and wares from the likes of Juicy and Jakks Pacific stuffed the gift bags.
