For the 2007 event, Jack Lucky provided the purple and red floral arrangements. The arrangements consisted of antique purple hydrangea, roses, delphinium, burgundy orchids, freesia, and alliums.

Australia Week’s G’Day USA Black-Tie Gala

In 2011, Australia Week’s “G’Day USA” black-tie gala took over the Hollywood Palladium on January 22, marking the culmination of Australia Week's Los Angeles festivities. Decked in brownish-red hues, the decor had a palette based on the indigenous colors of Australia's natural environment.

Working with Time Inc.'s Cyd Wilson, Tony Schubert of Event Eleven designed and produced the Los Angeles affair for the fifth consecutive year in 2013. The event had an overall look and feel Schubert described as "romantic" and "rich," evocative of the Art Deco era. The color scheme incorporated plenty of wine-red hues.

Pomegranate Cocktails
Pomegranate Cocktails

Using pomegranates in cocktails is a surefire way to give the drinks a deep red hue. One example: Toronto firm L'Eat Catering serves a pomegranate cocktail during the holiday season. Called "Pom Strega Dolce," the drink melds muddled pomegranate with Mount Gay Eclipse rum, Strega (an Italian herbal liqueur), lemon juice, and fresh mint.

Red Velvet Cupcakes
Red Velvet Cupcakes

Red velvet cakes and cupcakes are a perennially popular dessert—and provide a pretty close match to the Marsala shade. Many bakeries, including Georgetown Cupcake, serve the treat for meetings and events.

Fight Night

Events inspired by the legendary Moulin Rouge make way for plenty of red decor. At Fight Night in Washington in 2012, André Wells created an entryway to the event space reminiscent of the Moulin Rouge's signature windmill and red signage. The theme also leaves plenty of room for crushed velvet in red-wine hues that closer match Pantone's color of the year.

For the 2011 Museum of Modern Art’s film benefit in New York, the celebrity arrivals backdrop wasn’t a step-and-repeat of logos, but rather a wall of 20,000 fresh crimson-colored roses designed by Raul Avila.

In 2010, the wintry Chicago gala had a red-infused look inspired by Valentine's Day. BBJ's red damask linens topped round tables in the foyer.

Washing a space in red lights is a simple but effective statement, which is what Stoelt Productions did at New York's American Museum of Natural History for the Clio Awards in 2012.
