The city’s renowned florist Winston Flowers has branched out. Its new gourmet gift crates, launched just in time for the holiday season, include some of New England’s best small-batch food and drink offerings. Each crate is conceived and assembled by in-house curator Bob Sances, who works closely with local purveyors to assemble thematic collections of the region’s best cheese, fruit, chocolate, craft beer, and wine. Boxes that contain alcohol can only be hand-delivered around the Boston area, but all others can be shipped nationally. Pricing starts at $95.

The Texas-style barbecue mini chain serves brisket, ribs, and sausages, slow-smoked for many hours and doled out by the pound. The restaurant will also offer large-scale takeout as well as catering, which will include design services to help create the vibe of a proper Texan roadhouse.
