Meet Vancouver USA’s New Waterfront

Vancouver
Welcome to the Pacific Northwest's newest destination for groups seeking unbeatable waterfront views to pair with their meetings! After more than a decade of planning and building, Vancouver USA’s new $1.5 billion waterfront has opened, bringing new attractions and experiences for meeting-goers to enjoy. Nestled along the curves of the Columbia River just 10 minutes north of Portland, Oregon, Vancouver USA is as easy to find as it is to explore. Meeting planners and visiting groups continue to be impressed with Vancouver's vibrancy and natural beauty, which have been further enhanced by the new waterfront. The most prominent symbol on the waterfront is Grant Street Pier. Located three blocks from the Hilton and Vancouver Convention Center, the pedestrian pier is readily accessible to meeting attendees. The visually striking structure juts 90 feet out over the Columbia River and was specifically designed by nationally renowned public artist Larry Kirkland to evoke the billow of a passing sailboat. And, if Grant Street Pier is the symbolic shining jewel of the new waterfront, the Vancouver Waterfront Park is the surrounding crown. Following the curves of the river, the new park stretches across 7.3 acres of green space and offers prime areas for breakout sessions, evening receptions, and post-event excursions. The park includes sculptural components, picnic spots, and walking trails connecting to the existing 5-mile Waterfront Renaissance Trail. Planners looking ahead to the future can also get excited about The Waterfront’s Hotel Indigo, which is slated to open in early 2020. The 138-room property will feature a restaurant, a rooftop bar and 5,000 square feet of event space, serving as the perfect overflow option for large groups at the Vancouver Convention Center. Additional event space can be found at several new riverside restaurants. Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar offers a sophisticated boathouse atmosphere with dazzling finishing touches and signature cocktails. Across the promenade, regional maven WildFin American Grill offers sustainably grown and responsibly harvested seafood delights in an industrial chic space. Hungry visitors can even stop by the walk-up window for a fresh catch of the day. A brewery space with views of Mt. Hood and a terrace for private events is also in the works. Contact the team at Visit Vancouver USA today to discuss how your next meeting can be among the first to enjoy the stunning views and new attractions at The Waterfront.
