ATLANTA—Here's a look at new Atlanta eateries, nightclubs, outdoor venues, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces for all types of fall meetings and events. The new and renovated Atlanta venues are available for corporate parties, fund-raisers, business dinners, teambuilding activities, client entertaining, meetings, weddings, and more.
Gateway Center Arena

Gateway Center Arena at College Park, a multipurpose sports and entertainment venue, is slated to open at the end of October. Owned by the Georgia International Convention Center and the Fox Theatre, the venue will be home to the College Park Skyhawks, an N.B.A. G League basketball team. The 100,000-square-foot venue will seat 5,000 people for sporting events, as well as conventions, concerts, and graduations. CulinAero by Proof of the Pudding will provide food and beverage services at the venue.

SweetWater Brewery

Following a major renovation, SweetWater Brewery opened a dog-friendly patio and lawn in September. The patio and its taproom are available for private events on Mondays and Tuesdays for as many as 200 guests seated or 600 reception style. The patio includes picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, and drinking games. The brewery also can hold private events seven days a week for as many as 300 guests reception style in the Woodlands room, and for as many as 450 guests reception style in the Reel Room. Along with beer, the venue has a food menu that includes burgers, sandwiches, and upscale bar snacks.

Cold Beer

Cold Beer, the newest restaurant from Top Chef alum Kevin Gillespie, opened on the Beltline in July. The restaurant serves American fare and features a minimalist interior design with decor that includes panels filled with plants above the bar and a massive painting of a polar bear. The 7,000-square-foot restaurant seats 75 guests inside and 25 in a semiprivate dining room. The restaurant also seats 65 guests at a covered and heated patio and seats 90 on a partially covered rooftop, which is available for private events.

Wood's Chapel BBQ

Wood's Chapel BBQ opened in Summerhill in June. Named after one of the first churches in Summerhill, the restaurant is owned by the team behind the General Muir and specializes in barbecue plates, sandwiches, meats by the pound, and tacos. The venue includes a 5,264-square-foot interior that seats 90 guests and a 5,000-square-foot patio that seats 120 guests. For private events, the restaurant offers full buyouts for more than 250 people reception style and has a private dining room that seats 50 people. The restaurant also offers a special event and catering menu.

Aziza

Aziza, a modern Israeli restaurant, opened at Westside Provisions District in July. Owned by Oliva Restaurant Group, the nearly 4,000-square-foot restaurant serves a menu that changes daily with dishes such as braised lamb shank, a Jerusalem bagel, and a variety of hummus. The restaurant seats 96 guests, including 16 in a private dining room.

The Void

The Void, a company that offers interactive virtual-reality experiences, opened a space at the Battery Atlanta in September. For groups, the venue offers V.R. experiences including Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire and Ralph Breaks VR. The experiences include virtual-reality headsets, body tracking suits, and camera rigs. The venue has a 1,300-square-foot event space that holds 188 people standing, and the entire venue can hold about 530 guests for reception-style events.

Dos Bocas

Mexican-Cajun restaurant Dos Bocas opened in September. Located across from the Georgia Aquarium, the two-story restaurant is owned by Legacy Ventures and specializes in enchiladas, fajitas, po’ boys, and muffulettas. The 6,964-square-foot restaurant seats 92 guests on the first floor and 341 guests on the second floor, along with a second-floor private dining space that seats 12 guests.

The Burgess

The Burgess, a boutique hotel from Burges & Freny Jokhi, is slated to open in Buckhead in November. Formerly the Wingate by Wyndham hotel, the 102-room property will have three food and beverage concepts helmed by Apicii Hospitality Group, including a Mediterranean restaurant that seats 68 guests. For meetings and events, the hotel will offer the Dynasty Room, a 12-seat boardroom; and the 750-square-foot Mosaic Room, which seats 35 classroom style.

Sukoshi

Charlotte-based sushi and poke restaurant Sukoshi opened at Colony Square in Midtown in September. Owned by Indigo Hospitality Group, the restaurant features a bright interior space with pink and purple pastel silhouettes of fish, chopsticks, and sushi on the walls. The 2,000-square-foot venue seats 55 inside and 52 at a patio. The venue offers a separate catering menu and buyouts upon request.

Velvet Taco

Dallas-based taco eatery Velvet Taco opened in Buckhead in September. The restaurant specializes in tacos with fillings like Nashville hot cauliflower and tikka masala, and also serves weekly taco specials, margaritas, and beer. The 2,361-square-foot space holds as many as 150 standing. While it’s not available for buyout, the venue can accommodate large seated groups.
