The men who frequent the special event circuit in town may not think they have it as good as the women: the ladies see lots of flower-filled events and take home armloads of cosmetics-filled goodie bags, which may not necessarily be, well, the guys' bag. But as part of a promotion that will also travel to Los Angeles next month, liquor purveyor Drambuie set up a masculine lounge—dubbed the “Drambuie Den”—which will run through October 26 at West Village bar 49 Grove, a dark, sophisticated-looking, subterranean location befitting the brand’s “Taste the Secret” tag line.
On the lounge’s kickoff night, the Den featured Drambuie cocktails, hors d’oeuvres by Bryan Calvert, and haircuts and pedicure treatments for men provided by Butterfly Studio. Drambuie associate brand manager Jenny Cardenes produced the event with Maloney & Fox.
Gift bags—redeemable by cashing in black and white gambling chips guests obtained when checking in—kept with the masculine theme. They included grooming products from Malin & Goetz, a leather notebook, and everything guests needed to continue the party at home: a bottle of Drambuie, soda water, swizzle sticks, a lime, and a set of coasters.
