The environment has long been Hollywood's beloved pet cause, and this Sunday's Oscars mean big opportunities for groups and brands to promote themselves while bringing those popular eco-friendly messages to the fore.

Tomorrow night, Global Green will host its annual pre-Oscars party at Avalon Hollywood. Michelle Branch and Damien Rice will perform.

An eco-friendly hospitality suite hosted by health and wellness show Alive Expo Green Pavilion owners Kim Shimmel and Patrycja Siewert-Towns will take over the Sofitel in Beverly Hills from February 21 to 23 with green products and spa services. On Sunday, a fleet from GMC and Chevrolet—the biggest fleet assembled for a major awards show, according to the car brand—will give stars rides to Oscar's red carpet in one of more than 75 vehicles, including the GMC Yukon Hybrid and the zero-gas and zero-emissions Chevy Equinox Fuel Cell. GMC and Chevy are the only ABC Network automotive sponsors of the telecast.

G.M.’s efforts to present a green message also included bringing fuel-friendly vehicles to the Grammys earlier this month, as well as to the N.A.A.C.P. Image awards. Chevy will attempt its first “Chevy Rocks the Future” event tomorrow night. Check back for our coverage of the Chevy event, plus complete Oscar coverage.
