Macaroons from Cacao
Cacao, a new chocolate and pastry shop in the Bethesda Row complex in downtown Bethesda, specializes in French-style macaroons. Owner and pastry chef Jacques Poulain makes the delicate cookies in 12 standard flavors,including lemon, orange, mango, hazelnut, and lavender, and has options for special-order flavors, including champagne and salty caramel. Individual macaroons are $1.50 each; an 81-piece wholesale box is $48. For events, Poulain also produces chocolate boxes with custom logos.
