NBC Universal celebrated its seven Golden Globes honors—including best picture and director biggies for Focus Features’ Brokeback Mountain—inside a massive 21,000-square-foot tent structure set up by Angel City Designs that mimicked a 1940’s rail car atop the Beverly Hilton’s parking structure. Partygoers including Ron Howard, Zach Braff, and Russell Crowe mingled amid 4,000 yards of imported fabrics, 40’s-era furniture in neutral tones, and more than 4,000 red rose buds—some of which Angel City even set right into the furniture in squat vases. Plasma screens encased in antique silver frames showed a rebroadcast of the telecast, and a 30-foot-wideround mahogany bar decked the center of the room. Three square-shaped fabric structures encased illuminated orbs to create bold geometric chandeliers. NBC Universal’s vice president of special events, Hollace Davids, and Focus Features’ awards consultant Carlotta Florio oversaw the event.
