Once again, the runway presentation for Adidas’s Y-3 line was one of the most creative shows of New York Fashion Week. The same team behind last season’s surreal subway-inspired look and last February’s big vault—Etienne Russo of Belgium-based Villa Eugenie, Michael Brown of Lot71, and Paris- and New York-based event production company OBO—this time put up the first fashion show at the Hunter College gymnasium. Looking to upstage their previous efforts, the production crew brought back last season’s conveyor belt (this time in black) and utilized LED technology for the color-changing, sports-inspired, slightly surreal show. More than 1,000 people squeezed into padded wooden bleachers, including former French soccer star Zinedine Zidane.
