A two-part wintry event dubbed “From Russia with Love” served as the 15th anniversary fashion show and party for Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons’ Phat Fashions lines. The divorcing duo showcased Kimora’s Baby Phat fashions at the Roseland Ballroom and celebrated the night at Cipriani 23rd Street. She worked with designer Jack Rich to create the event, which employed a bold red palette and loud hip-hop.
After-party event designer Ed Libby, who has worked with Baby Phat for three years, created a lavish Russian parlor at Cipriani 23rd Street, where guests lounged and indulged in caviar and champagne. Round red banquettes and tables topped with caviar trays surrounded the dance floor, while additional touches included soft lighting from candelabras and lanterns, Russian-theme drinks, and projections of Phat Farm, Imperial Vodka, and Cipriani logos on three walls.
DJ Mel Debarge provided the music for guests on the dance floor, while other attendees sat tucked in their plush banquettes. The party finally wound down around 2 AM.
