One of Fashion Week’s most anticipated spectacles, the Heatherette show, went down in the tents at Bryant Park. Designers Richie Rich and Traver Rains created a Wizard of Oz theme to showcase their collection, inspired by a Pink Floyd laser-light show that prominently featured the film. (They even secured the rights to use the MGM movie for their show, a process they began early in the planning process.) At the back of the runway stood a small cottage set embellished with a glittering gold front door, through which models exited and entered during the presentation. Eric Vidmar designed the show’s vibrant set, and Puma served as the official sponsor. The Heatherette show had nearly 3,500 RSVPs; 1,200 people (the venue's capacity) took in the scene.
