Muse Lifestyle Group officially opened the nightlife and performance venue Playhouse on July 9 in the old Fox Theatre building in Hollywood after giving the space a $6 million renovation.
Muse, with nightlife designers Icrave (of Coco de Ville fame), set up the 13,000-square-foot space on three levels. It offers truss-based lighting with programmable LEDs, a custom Funktion One sound system, a DJ booth and mixing console, a projection screen, a stage for live performances, four full bars, and a kitchen.
The space has room for 999 standing. It includes a main room, upstairs lounge, and a 50-person restaurant; in August Muse Lifestyle Group expects to open a 24-hour diner, Sweet Love Hangover, connected to Playhouse.
