When the Merv Griffin Givenchy Resort and Spa turned into the Jonathan Adler-designed Parker Palm Springs in 2004, it was a sign changes were afoot in the desert. And lately, there’s always something quirky and luxurious to tempt a crowd out there. This September, the Parker’s spa, the Palm Springs Yacht Club (PSYC for short), will unveil Camp PSYC, a four-day, three-night spa camp. Conducive to large and small groups, the weekend package includes three meals a day, rooms at the Parker, resort fees, and spa treatments. Guests will have unlimited use of the 13-acre grounds for hiking, tennis, yoga, croquet—and, natch, pole dancing. The spa’s manifesto sums it up: “We believe in good sport as well as fitness: Pétanque and Pastis, Pimms Cup and croquet, snooker and single malt whiskey.”
