Margot Carr Joins Omnicom Event Division

USMP, the event management division of the Marketing Arm, which is itself an "engagement marketing" division of Omnicom, announced today that Margot Carr will become its managing director, a new position. According to a release, she will "create and implement a rollout of corporate event capabilities within the Marketing Arm."

"I will be building the (creative) practice of large corporate events, B-to-C events, and meetings—with the expertise of a marketing company that understands the consumer and has a holistic approach to all marketing communication platforms and activation strategies," Carr wrote in an email to us this afternoon. "What excited me was the full range of services—entertainment, sports, retail, wireless, promotions, analytics, sponsorships, and events all under one roof, sharing the consumer understanding and creating consistent messaging."

Carr was most recently the chief operating officer at Publicis Events, and has also worked at Pedersen Media Group in San Fransisco and at Jack Morton Worldwide and Caribiner International. She will continue to be based in New York.
