Moschino Milan Show

In February, Moschino held its fashion show at MiCo—Milano Congressi. Creative director Jeremy Scott created his own Price Is Right-style game show as a backdrop for the presentation, complete with “prizes” in the form of a shiny new car, washer-dryer, bedroom set, and refrigerator. The kitschy backdrop suited the Dynasty-decadent gowns, mini-dresses in Warholian-like prints of household cleaning products dripping with crystal embroideries and plenty of kitschy bags shaped like toothpaste tubes, hairdryers, cash registers, champagne bottles, and more. Random Production produced the show. See more: Staging and Set Design Inspiration: Highlights From Fashion Month

Dior Paris Show

For her Fall 2019 Dior show, produced by Bureau Betak and held February 26 at the Musée Rodin in Paris, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri enlisted Italian conceptual artist Bianca Pucciarelli Menna—better known by her pseudonym, Tomaso Binga—to design the show set. In a continuing renewal of the girl power set that has come to be the standard at Dior, the venue walls were adorned with naked images of Binga contorted into every letter of the alphabet. Toyota 2020 Highlander Reception

For last month’s New York International Auto Show, Toyota teased the debut of its 2020 Highlander by partnering with artist and sculptor Michael Murphy, who created a 3-D hanging illusion that resembled the S.U.V. Murphy created the installation over two months in his Brooklyn studio by hand-painting 200 pieces of paper, which were then strategically placed to appear as if they were floating in the air. The installation was revealed near the Javits Center, and it also was projected onto New York buildings and billboards. BMF produced and designed Toyota’s auto show reception, which featured Murphy’s suspended installation. See more: 17 Brand Highlights From the New York International Auto Show

San Diego Museum of Art Fund-Raiser

The San Diego Museum of Art’s 38th annual fund-raiser took place April 11 to 14, with four days of events that featured more than 100 floral interpretations of classic works of art created by local and national floral designers. Art Alive's V.I.P. premiere dinner had a dramatic, flower-filled Art Deco theme inspired by photojournalist Alfred Eisenstaedt. As guests entered the museum's rotunda, they encountered a massive chandelier made from red roses inside glass boxes designed by Jennifer McGarigle of Floral Art.
